At Hometown Safe Travels we will help you prepare for a safe and healthy trip. Our pre-travel consult typically lasts about 45-60 minutes depending on where you are going and which travel vaccines you need. Our travel specialists will discuss a variety of destination-specific topics to keep you safe and healthy while you are away from home. We have information for everyone from the experienced traveler to the first time traveler.

You may need a pre-travel consultation if you are:

  • traveling internationally
  • going on a cruise
  • volunteering on a mission trip
  • in the military
  • providing disaster relief
  • staying with friends or family while traveling abroad
  • pregnant or breast feeding
  • disabled
  • living with a chronic health condition such as diabetes or asthma
  • a foreign-exchange student

At your pre-travel visit, we will determine:

  • Which vaccines you need
  • If you need to take medication to prevent malaria
  • Whether altitude sickness prevention is necessary
  • Proper treatment of a case of traveler’s diarrhea based on known antibiotic resistance patterns of the area you plan to visit
  • Whether you will need medication to prevent motion sickness

We partner with your health care provider to provide prescription medications necessary for the prevention of altitude sickness, malaria, motion sickness, and traveler’s diarrhea. Our Hometown Pharmacy pricing can’t be beat and we accept all prescription insurances.
